Performance History

WHITTIER BACH FESTIVAL (5/26)
Description: The Horizon Chamber Players led by music director Christian Campos return to the Whittier College Bach Festival. Joined by Whittier College faculty soloists Danny Lozano (flute) and David Muller (bassoon), the ensemble presents a program featuring J.C. Bach’s majestic Bassoon Concerto, Telemann’s chamber masterwork Suite in a minor for flute and strings, along with a movement from J.S. Bach’s Ich habe genug with guest soloist, baritone David Castillo.

ALPHA & OMEGA (5/24.25)
Description: The Long Beach Bach Festival and Horizon Music Group present the Horizon Chamber Choir in Alpha & Omega, a program featuring motets by J.C. Bach and Claudio Monteverdi, along with three works by J.S. Bach. Led by conductor Christian Campos, the group explores short Baroque masterworks with the Argus Quartet and guests.

WHITTIER BACH FESTIVAL (4/23)
Description: The Horizon Chamber Players conducted by Christian Campos perform secular cantatas by J.S. Bach, including the popular “Coffee Cantata” (BWV 211). Joining the ensemble are sopranos Diana Newman and Amelia Tobiason, tenor Jon Lee Keenan, and world renowned baritone Rod Gilfry.

MY HEART’S PASTURE, including LONG BEACH BACH FESTIVAL (4/21.22)
Description: The Horizon Chamber Choir presents My Heart’s Pasture, a program featuring music by Monteverdi, Purcell, and J.S. Bach. The centerpiece of the concert is Bach’s five-voice funereal motet Jesu, meine Freude. The longest of Bach’s motets, the eleven-movement work is laid out symmetrically with chorale movements interpolated between biblical texts from Romans. Also on the program is Monteverdi’s haunting Lamento d’Arianna and two anthems by Henry Purcell.

At the historic and beautiful Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles, the three choirs will share portions of the program with repertoire from J.S. Bach to spirituals.
